Day in Review: April 10, 2015

Maybe not as dramatic as Polamalu’s retirement yesterday but today consisted of some signings.

1. C Mike Pouncey signed a five-year, $50 million+ contract extension with the Miami Dolphins today (around $20 million guaranteed). He just completed his fourth season with the ‘Fins this season, and in my opinion was well worth the money. He is definitely a top 10 player on the Dolphins.

2. Another resigning is in Pittsburgh where the Steelers resigned S Will Allen to add depth lost with the Polamalu retirement. The safety probably won’t start in Polamalu’s place.

3. Now moving to New Orleans, the Saints signed former Dallas Cowboy LB/DE Anthony Spencer (probably because Rob Ryan likes him). Spencer spent all of his first 8 seasons in Dallas.

4. The last piece of news comes from New York as a bad piece of publicity for the Giants 😦 LB Victor Butler has been suspended for the first four games of this season for using performance enhancing drugs. He was going to fight for a starting LB spot (a BIG need for the Giants), but now has narrowed the field against himself, which I suppose is a blessing in disguise for the Giants.

That’s all for today, and remember: have a pleasant tomorrow.
