Day in Review: April 15, 2015

I’d like to start off with an announcement, for those of you who have been catching spelling and grammar errors, they occur because I write these things immediately before going to bed. Sorry.

Now on to the NFL:

1. The biggest news of the day is that former New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder, which means that NFL players actually aren’t untouchable regarding their off-field actions. Also, Aaron Hernandez is definitely not OJ.

2. 2015 NFL Draft prospect WR Jaelen Strong (Arizona State) has a fractured bone in his wrist that will likely need surgery. In my opinion this could be very harmful to his draft stock with another strong WR class this year that is predicted to compete with last year’s draft class. (I don’t predict that, Odell Beckham all the way!)

3. OL Daryn Colledge retired from the NFL today as a free agent. He spent a total of nine seasons in the NFL: last year with the Miami Dolphins, 3 years with the Arizona Cardinals before that and 5 years with the Green Bay Packers prior to that. Colledge won Super Bowl 45 with the Pack and is also a Boise State Grad. Go Broncos!

4. The Detroit Lions have agreed to trade DE George Johnson to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after both teams put competing offer sheets on him with the Lions winning.

That’s all for TheHaysWay today, have a pleasant tomorrow.
