Day in Review: May 5 (or Revenge of the Fifth), 2015

This is early today because today was a draining day. Here’s the news:

1. OT La’el Collins (LSU) met with HC Rex Ryan (Buffalo Bills) and players from the Miami Dolphins today after meeting with police yesterday. Collins went undrafted because of his meeting with the police and both the Bills and the ‘Fins are very close to making the playoffs, so clearly they think Collins could be a missing piece.

2. The Kansas City Chiefs released QB Terrelle Pryor. Pryor spent last season with the Seattle Seahawks (he didn’t play) and the previous three with the Oakland Raiders when they thought he could be their QB of the future. Honestly, I have no idea how Pryor has lasted this long and I think this is the end of the road for him. Unless…more Chip Kelly circus acts…

3. The New England Patriots release CB Alfonzo Dennard today. Dennard has spent all of the past three seasons with the Pats.

4. TE John Carlson has retired from the Arizona Cardinals today. Carlson spent last season with the Cardinals, the previous two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and the three seasons before that with the Seattle Seahawks.

5. The Cleveland Browns, via HC Mike Pettine announced today that QB Josh McCown is the favorite to start over QB Johnny Manziel who was drafted last year and is fresh out of a rehab facility. I was very surprised the Browns didn’t want to try their luck on any QBs late in this year’s draft.

That’s all for TheHaysWay today, have a pleasant tomorrow.
