Today felt a little shorter than usual. Maybe because Mondays are always so long. Here comes the news:
1. San Francisco 49ers fans, to give you further concern (something I very much enjoy as a Kaepernick hater) S Eric Reid has considered retiring due to concussions. He hasn’t officially stated his decision on the matter but should he add to the 49ers list of departures this offseason, the 49ers could REALLY suck. If it’s any consolation 9ers fans, you might get the 1st overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. 🙂
2. DE Corey Liuget has signed a contract extension with the San Diego Chargers. The extension is for 5 years and $58.5 million, and beats possible contract extensions for QB Philip Rivers and S Eric Weddle. Liuget has played all of the past 4 seasons with the Chargers after being drafted by the team in 2011.
3. The Seattle Seahawks have decided to resign QB Tarvaris Jackson. Jackson spent the previous 2 seasons with the ‘Hawks, the season before with the Buffalo Bills, one season back from that with the ‘Hawks, and the 5 seasons prior with the Minnesota Vikings. First of all, I’d like to say that the Seahawks have never gotten good value from previous Vikings players (i.e. Jackson, WR Sidney Rice, and WR Percy Harvin) and I don’t know why they continue to pursue them, although this argument is a little late against Jackson. Second of all, could the veteran be insurance should the ‘Hawks decide to make the shocking move of watching QB Russell Wilson leave?…I’m sorry Seahawks fans…I can’t do it. There is NO way that the ‘Hawks watch a franchise QB of Wilson’s caliber and age walk out the door. Wilson won’t be with another team in his career unless he decides to play as long as QB Peyton Manning…Anyway…that was mean…no need to be Sleepless in Seattle worrying about Wilson.
That’s all for TheHaysWay today, have a pleasant tomorrow.
