Day in Review: August 4, 2015 Dat Catch Do! It’s not quite on an Odell Beckham Jr level, but props to WR Jaron Brown of the Arizona Cardinals for making that catch. He might make the roster yet. The news today will definitely affect the Houston Texans roster:

  1. RB Arian Foster of the Houston Texans has injured his groin and will miss at least half of the season. What this means for the Texans: a) Their current RB group includes Alfred Blue, Chris Polk, and Jonathan Grimes. b) The top free agent RBs remaining are Ahmad Bradshaw, Chris Johnson, Ray Rice, and Pierre Thomas. My prediction: The Texans may consider picking up Chris Johnson or Pierre Thomas (who is going to visit the team this week) because they both have been serviceable NFL RBs (they will not consider picking up Ahmad Bradshaw because he has injury issues too, nor will they consider picking up Ray Rice because of the scrutiny they would face), but more likely, the Texans will make Alfred Blue the feature back while Foster is out because he is a young RB that they would like to develop. In fantasy: If you have Arian Foster on your team, KEEP HIM ON YOUR TEAM because he will be good when he comes back. Until then, pick up Alfred Blue because I expect this to shoot his fantasy value THROUGH THE ROOF.
  2. Carolina Panthers CB Chris Houston has decided to retire from the NFL. Houston spent the past 4 seasons with the Detroit Lions, and the 3 seasons prior with the Atlanta Falcons. This was a good move by Houston because the Lions let him walk, and the Lions have one of the worst secondaries in the league, so he likely would’ve been cut by the Panthers before the season anyway.

That’s all for TheHaysWay today, have a pleasant tomorrow.
