Days in Review: August 29-September 2, 2015

Sorry I’ve missed some shocking cuts because today was the deadline for NFL teams to cut their rosters down to 75 players, so let’s get right into them:

  1. The Buffalo Bills released RB Fred Jackson. Jackson is a veteran with some playing time left in him and has visited with the Seattle Seahawks and former teammate RB Marshawn Lynch since his release from the Bills. The ‘Hawks have been looking for a backup for Lynch, so Jackson definitely has a shot.
  2. New Orleans Saints CB Keenan Lewis is expected to miss 4-6 weeks following hip surgery. S Jarius Byrd and CB PJ Williams will also be out to start the season for the Saints. Lewis has spent the past 2 seasons with the Saints, and spent the 4 seasons prior with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
  3. Tennessee Titans NT Sammie Hill had surgery to fix an MCL injury and is expected to miss 3 games. Hill has spent the past 2 seasons with the Titans, and spent the 4 seasons prior with the Detroit Lions.
  4. Other notable cuts: Oakland Raiders RB Trent Richardson, Chicago Bears CB Tim Jennings, Arizona Cardinals P Dave Zastudil, Carolina Panthers WR Jarrett Boykin, Cincinnati Bengals WR Denarius Moore, Cincinnati Bengals DT Kwame Geathers, Houston Texans NT Chris Neild, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Jeff Tuel, Miami Dolphins P Brandon Fields, Minnesota Vikings TE Brandon Bostick, New England Patriots WR Josh Boyce, New Orleans Saints FB Erik Lorig, New York Giants OL Brandon Mosely, New York Jets CB Javier Arenas, Oakland Raiders WR Trindon Holliday, Seattle Seahawks C Lemuel Jeanpierre, Seattle Seahawks DE Greg Scruggs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers P Michael Koenen.

That’s all for TheHaysWay today, have a pleasant tomorrow.
