Happy October! I know it has been a while since I have done a Day in Review, so here’s
The Final Countdown (granted my last post wasn’t in the 80’s). Just started thinking of that song when I saw this new dynamite Geico commercial:
. So there is some great music for the day, now for some great news:
- QB Andrew Luck has been limited in practice with the Indianapolis Colts due to a shoulder injury. Luck has struggled this season (probably as a result of his shoulder injury), and his absence could lead to the lift of the Colts with another QB at the helm.
- Baltimore Ravens WR Breshad Perriman had surgery today on his PCL. Perriman was the first round pick of the Ravens in this year’s draft, but hasn’t made a big splash this season, mostly due to the fact that teammate WR Steve Smith looks 10 years younger.
- Continuing with the Baltimore Ravens, LB Jason Babin is making his debut at the time of this post with the team against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Babin was signed as a result of LB Terrell Suggs ACL tear. Babin spent last season with the New York Jets, the previous 2 seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the 2 seasons prior with the Philadelphia Eagles, the season before that with the Tennessee Titans, the previous season with the Philadelphia Eagles, the season prior with the Kansas City Chiefs, the 2 seasons before with the Seattle Seahawks, and the previous 3 seasons with the Houston Texans. Babin has been all over the place.
- New York Giants WR Victor Cruz will not play Sunday vs the Buffalo Bills because of a calf injury. The wideout will be temporarily filled-in by WRs Rueben Randle and Dwayne Harris. The Giants also worked out free agent WRs Hakeem Nicks and Wes Welker, but have yet to sign either. Welker was reportedly the more impressive of the two. As I Giants fan, I would be THRILLED to see a foursome at WR of Odell Beckham Jr, Cruz, Welker, and Nicks. It would be like a modern-day Greatest Show on Turf.
That’s all for TheHaysWay today, have a pleasant tomorrow with The Final Countdown of the week (Friday).
