Daily Update: May 11, 2016

“With all the things I’ve been through, the No. 1 thing that I’ve learned is that we’re supposed to help people through this world.” -Ray Lewis, LB (retired), Baltimore Ravens

Ray Lewis is one of my favorite players of all time because he is such an amazing person. This quote is one that I live by. I may not have been through a lot, but I know there are many people who have been through a lot, and many people have a much worse life than I do. I try to bring happiness to everyone I encounter every day. Emotion is the driver of our lives’ cars. Emotion can either lift you to amazing heights, or drop you to your lowest moments. I try to help others by lifting them to amazing heights via happiness, sometimes at the expense of my own happiness. Right, NFL blog. Moving on to today’s news:

  1. Seattle Seahawks WR Ricardo Lockette is retiring due to a neck injury he suffered against the Dallas Cowboys on a vicious block from S Jeff Heath. Also, let the record show that Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has been experiencing heat for supposedly making derogatory comments about Lockette on that play. If he did, I sincerely hope he is ashamed of himself right now. Lockette spent all four of his NFL seasons with the Seahawks.
  2. QB Jason Campbell is returning to football this season following his break in 2015. The reason I put this on here: The New York Jets may come calling.
  3. DE Bjoern Werner is signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Werner was cut by the Indianapolis Colts about two months ago following three disappointing seasons with the team. He likely won’t catch on with the Jags either.
  4. The NFL has decided their next, cold-weather Super Bowl will be played February 4th, 2018. Super Bowl LII is taking place in the Minnesota Vikings new stadium, which opens this season.
  5. New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman had a minor surgery on his left foot. He is expected to be back for training camp.

That’s all for TheHaysWay today, make sure to leave a comment about how you help people (or about another topic if you would prefer), and a like on this post would be terrific as well. Have a pleasant tomorrow.
