100TH POST! and Daily Update: May 12, 2016

THIS IS MY 100th POST!!! It’s been so much fun doing this and I appreciate the support! I look forward to writing many more great posts! For perspective, my first post ever included the news of Pittsburgh Steelers S Troy Polamalu’s retirement on April 9, 2015! Hopefully I can reach 200 in less than a year this time!

“A truly educated student should have something they want to fight against, something to change in the world.” -Anonymous (Due to possible incriminating implications this could have within the next month for this person, I will leave this person anonymous. I will, however, say that this person is a good friend of mine. Also, you do need to have at least a marginal understanding of the Hunger Games for that scene to make any sense in the context of the quote.)

Before we begin the news, make sure you check out my ‘Fantasy Football Analysis’ page for my most recently updated fantasy football player rankings, just released today. And now the news:

  1. New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski will be the cover boy of Madden NFL 17. He was chosen by Electronic Arts representatives following his second place finish to New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr in the cover vote last year. As for the Madden curse, it didn’t affect Odell. If it affects Gronk, I imagine it will be in the form of injury.
  2. The 2nd overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft, QB Carson Wentz, has signed his deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. The deal is for four years and will pay him $26.67 million over the life of it with a $17.6 million signing bonus.
  3. The NFL and youtube have reached a partnership. Full NFL games will now be uploaded to the NFL’s official youtube channel. The motive behind this could be to attract more overseas talents, such as new Minnesota Vikings WR Moritz Boehringer, who was drafted out of Germany.
  4. Speaking of MoBo, the WR has received permission from the NFL to have an umlaut over the ‘o’ on his jersey. With the umlaut over the ‘o’, his last name is spelled, ‘Bohringer’.

That’s all for TheHaysWay today. Leave a comment with your thoughts on the quote, the news, or any suggestions. A like would also be greatly appreciated. Have a pleasant tomorrow.
