NFL Draft Tracker

All Picks:

1st Round

  1. Cleveland Browns
    1. My Pick: Sam Darnold, QB, USC
    2. Actual Pick: Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma
    3. Reaction: Mayfield is not the best QB in this class, but it is a QB as expected. My instinct is to be a little concerned that Cleveland may now have the next Johnny Manziel.
  2. New York Giants
    1. My Pick: Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
    2. Actual Pick: Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
    3. Reaction: My first correct pick! Psyched to have a star RB for the first time…like,…ever!
  3. New York Jets (Colts–>Jets)
    1. My Pick: Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
    2. Actual Pick: Sam Darnold, QB, USC
    3. Reaction: Didn’t expect him to fall, I’m sure the Jets didn’t either. They were pleasantly surprised. He could turn the Jets around.
  4. Cleveland Browns (Texans–>Browns)
    1. My Pick: (Projected trade to San Francisco 49ers) Bradley Chubb, DE, NC State
    2. Actual Pick: Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State
    3. Reaction: I knew the Browns wanted Ward, I just figured they’d be smart and trade down a little for him. They really needed a CB.
  5. Denver Broncos
    1. My Pick: Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame
    2. Actual Pick: Bradley Chubb, DE, NC State
    3. Reaction: This is going to be an even scarier pass rush than it already was! I’m sure the Broncos are happy that he slid down a little to them.
  6. Indianapolis Colts (Jets–>Colts)
    1. My Pick: Tremaine Edmunds, LB, Virginia Tech
    2. Actual Pick: Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame
    3. Reaction: Me: “Great pick.” My dad: “You’re assuming he’ll have someone worth protecting.” … Well played. Regardless, the Colts have needed o-line help for a long time.
  7. Buffalo Bills (Buccaneers–>Bills)
    1. My Pick: (Projected trade to Cleveland Browns) Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State
    2. Actual Pick: Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
    3. Reaction: I called the Bucs moving down, but the Bills moved up a little sooner than I thought. The Bills are hoping that Allen is the next Carson Wentz.
  8. Chicago Bears
    1. My Pick: Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia
    2. Actual Pick: Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia
    3. Reaction: My 2nd totally correct pick, Roquan is a great LB and the Bears definitely needed one of those. He may be the next Brian Urlacher.
  9. San Francisco 49ers
    1. My Pick: (Projected trade to Tampa Bay Buccaneers through projected trade to Cleveland Browns) Derwin James, S, Florida State
    2. Actual Pick: Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame
    3. Reaction: This is a little early for McGlinchey, but I get that San Fran wants to protect their shiny, new Jimmy G.
  10. Arizona Cardinals (Raiders–>Cardinals)
    1. My Pick: (Projected trade to Buffalo Bills) Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
    2. Actual Pick: Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
    3. Reaction: They traded up one pick sooner than I thought, and got one of the two best QBs in this draft. The Cardinals shouldn’t skip much of a beat with Rosen.
  11. Miami Dolphins
    1. My Pick: (Projected trade to Arizona Cardinals) Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma
    2. Actual Pick: Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Alabama
    3. Reaction: They need defensive help all over, so this is a good pick. Fitzpatrick has been the top guy on a playoff defense in college, the Dolphins will hope that statement is true in the pros, too.
  12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Bengals–>Bills–>Buccaneers)
    1. My Pick: (Projected trade to Oakland Raiders) Minkah Fitzpatrick, S, Alabama
    2. Actual Pick: Vita Vea, DT, Washington
    3. Reaction: So, I’m starting to wonder if there’s something wrong with Derwin James? Vea doesn’t really make sense for Tampa with Gerald McCoy holding down the DT spot right now. This is probably the first pick I think a team whiffed. That said, Vea is a good player.
  13. Washington Redskins
    1. My Pick: Vita Vea, DT, Washington
    2. Actual Pick: Da’Ron Payne, DT, Alabama
    3. Reaction: Vea was off the board, so they went with the next best DT.
  14. New Orleans Saints (Packers–>Saints)
    1. My Pick: Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama
    2. Actual Pick: Marcus Davenport, DE, UTSA
    3. Reaction: This kid must be sensational and Sean Payton must know it to give up next year’s first rounder to get him. Interesting to make that move for a DE and I don’t think it was a good move. But if the Saints believe in him, they needed to move up to this spot to get him. He wouldn’t have lasted much longer beyond this point.
  15. Oakland Raiders (Cardinals–>Raiders)
    1. My Pick: (Projected trade to Miami Dolphins) Da’Ron Payne, DT, Alabama
    2. Actual Pick: Kolton Miller, OT, UCLA
    3. Reaction: Little early for Miller and I’m not sure this was a great pick being that the Raiders’ main issue is defense. Miller should be the heir to Donald Penn (who is 35) at LT.
  16. Buffalo Bills (Ravens–>Bills)
    1. My Pick: Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame
    2. Actual Pick: Tremaine Edmunds, LB, Virginia Tech
    3. Reaction: Best pick of the round so far. The Bills needed a LB, Edmunds is immensely talented, he fell down the draft a little, and he is only 19 years old! Great pick.
  17. Los Angeles Chargers
    1. My Pick: Taven Bryan, DT, Florida
    2. Actual Pick: Derwin James, S, Florida State
    3. Reaction: Congratulations Bolts, you just got a new Eric Weddle!
  18. Green Bay Packers (Seahawks–>Packers)
    1. My Pick: Josh Jackson, CB, Iowa
    2. Actual Pick: Jaire Alexander, CB, Louisville
    3. Reaction: I don’t like this pick. The Packers needed a CB, but so do the Seahawks. The Seahawks would’ve stayed here and taken Alexander if they thought he could be a good NFL CB.
  19. Dallas Cowboys
    1. My Pick: Will Hernandez, OG, UTEP
    2. Actual Pick: Leighton Vander Esch, LB, Boise State
    3. Reaction: The Cowboys just got a guy with a high motor and the greatest instincts in the draft.
  20. Detroit Lions
    1. My Pick: Derrius Guice, RB, LSU
    2. Actual Pick: Frank Ragnow, C, Arkansas
    3. Reaction: One of the claimed underrated players in the draft, Ragnow should be a day 1 starter on the Lions’ o-line.
  21. Cincinnati Bengals (Bills–>Bengals)
    1. My Pick: Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama
    2. Actual Pick: Billy Price, C, Ohio State
    3. Reaction: Back to back centers, Price is a good player who can step in to start at center for the Bengals.
  22. Tennessee Titans (Chiefs–>Bills–>Ravens–>Titans)
    1. My Pick: (Projected trade to Tennessee Titans) Harold Landry, EDGE, Boston College
    2. Actual Pick: Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama
    3. Reaction: I called the Titans trading up to this spot, but I didn’t think Evans would still be on the board so I projected the wrong guy. This is a great pick.
  23. New England Patriots (Rams–>Patriots)
    1. My Pick: Leighton Vander Esch, LB, Boise State
    2. Actual Pick: Isaiah Wynn, OT, Georgia
    3. Reaction: Laughed when Goodell announced him as an OT. He’s listed as an OG by most teams, but New England needs a replacement for Nate Solder at LT, and it looks like Wynn might be that guy. I guessed the Pats would take him with the 31st pick, but they felt it best not to wait.
  24. Carolina Panthers
    1. My Pick: Marcus Davenport, DE, UTSA
    2. Actual Pick: DJ Moore, WR, Maryland
    3. Reaction: I liked Calvin Ridley a little more, but there’s no question the Panthers needed a WR. DJ Moore can step in as the #1 WR over Devin Funchess.
  25. Baltimore Ravens (Titans–>Ravens)
    1. My Pick: (Projected trade to Buffalo Bills) Mike Hughes, CB, UCF
    2. Actual Pick: Hayden Hurst, TE, South Carolina
    3. Reaction: Hurst needs to do one thing in Baltimore: STAY HEALTHY. I don’t even think he needs to be great to stick in Baltimore, they’d just be happy to have a TE play an entire season.
  26. Atlanta Falcons
    1. My Pick: Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan
    2. Actual Pick: Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama
    3. Reaction: This pick would seemingly indicate that Mohammed Sanu may be on his way out.
  27. Seattle Seahawks (Saints–>Packers–>Seahawks)
    1. My Pick: Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville
    2. Actual Pick: Rashaad Penny, RB, San Diego State
    3. Reaction: This is a HUGE reach, but Penny has the potential to make this a fantastic pick. He has the chance to be Seattle’s feature back for a long time.
  28. Pittsburgh Steelers
    1. My Pick: Justin Reid, S, Stanford
    2. Actual Pick: Terrell Edmunds, S, Virginia Tech
    3. Reaction: I guessed the wrong safety, but Edmunds is a great one. Awesome to see Ryan Shazier walking.
  29. Jacksonville Jaguars
    1. My Pick: DJ Moore, WR, Maryland
    2. Actual Pick: Taven Bryan, DT, Florida
    3. Reaction: The scariest d-line in the league gets even scarier. Wow. This was a bit of a steal, too. All around great pick.
  30. Minnesota Vikings
    1. My Pick: Connor Williams, OT, Texas
    2. Actual Pick: Mike Hughes, CB, UCF
    3. Reaction: Great pick. Mike Hughes is a great player and having him play on the other side of the field from Xavier Rhodes= DANGEROUS.
  31. New England Patriots
    1. My Pick: Isaiah Wynn, OG, Georgia
    2. Actual Pick: Sony Michel, RB, Georgia
    3. Reaction: The Patriots just got the ultimate matchup nightmare at RB. Anybody who saw the College Football Playoff totally understands why Belichick wanted him and he should be even better for the Pats than Dion Lewis was.
  32. Baltimore Ravens (Eagles–>Ravens)
    1. My Pick: Ronald Jones II, RB, USC
    2. Actual Pick: Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville
    3. Reaction: The Ravens have found Joe Flacco’s heir apparent. I seem to recall the Minnesota Vikings trading into the last pick of the first round a few years ago to snag Teddy Bridgewater–from LOUISVILLE! The two purple teams traded into the same spot for two QBs with almost identical styles from the same school! I still believe in Teddy Bridgewater and I believe in Lamar Jackson!!!!
