#17: 1/3 Class Reunion, STAR WARS!!!!, and More

“True friends stab you in the front.” -Oscar Wilde, Dramatist

This quote struck me as funny when I first read it, but it’s not too far off the mark. Obviously, friends don’t stab you in the back because it’s terrible to betray…anybody, really. Especially friends. However, friends should be the ones to set you straight. A good friend is someone who looks out for you and lets you know when you have made a mistake. That’s what the intention of the quote is, in my opinion. However, it’s a little too…intense? I don’t think friends should ever stab each other, even if they are trying to set each other straight. I think maybe a slap in the face might be a little more appropriate. Or a bucket of water dumped on the head: something to wake someone up and show them the mistake they are making so they can stop making it. Those kind of friends are the best.

When were you thankful for a friend letting you know that you were making a mistake?

We are young. Every single living thing in the universe has the capacity to be young. But we all grow old, right? WRONG! We may age physically, but mentally we all have the right to choose to be young. It’s up to every individual to decide for themselves what they can and cannot do. Because, in reality, there is nothing we cannot do unless we tell ourselves that we cannot do something.

So, what can you do? More importantly, what WILL you do?

I went to a high school basketball game at my alma mater tonight! It was awesome! I got to meet up with seven of my classmates (my class only had 24 people in it, so a third of us were there!) and catch up on all the happenings in our lives. It’s was funny to see that none of us have changed, even though we’ve been spread out across the country and we’ve been hanging out with new people. Plus, it was great to see so many old friends. Luckily, none of the 7 people there were part of the “Throbbing Three”, which are the three people in my class that I’m not excited to see again because they give me headaches for some reason or another (hence the “throbbing” part).

I’m going to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story tomorrow! I’M GOING TO SEE ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY TOMORROW!!! I’m so psyched! Me and four friends are going to watch the prequel trilogy before we go to the premiere (because the new movie takes place after the prequels). So, I’ve got a solid 8+ hours of Star Wars scheduled into my day tomorrow! It doesn’t get much better than that!

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams. From Cleveland, to LA, to St Louis, and back to LA again. The Rams have the same winning percentage as the San Diego Chargers, but come in a slot higher because they have existed longer. They’ve been to two Super Bowls and have won one. That one victory came as a result of The Greatest Show on Turf, which included QB Kurt Warner, RB Marshall Faulk, WR Isaac Bruce, WR Torry Holt, and OT Orlando Pace. They’ve also had defensive success throughout their existence, with Hall of Famers David “Deacon” Jones, Jack Youngblood, Kevin Greene, and Bob “Boomer” Brown anchoring their defenses of the past. Now, they have players like DE Robert Quinn and DT Aaron Donald anchoring their defense of today. Despite their defensive success, the Rams have rarely achieved offensive success (outside of the years when The Greatest Show on Turf reigned supreme), which is why Jeff Fisher was just fired as their head coach earlier this week. It seems a fitting time for the Rams to show up on the countdown. They also mark the final franchise in the bottom half of the NFL when it comes to All-Time Winning Percentage.
